The King leased to Thomas Pulleyn of Blubberhouse and William Deconson of Brame, near Fewston, – the lead mines “in a waste ground called Middle Tongue, Mungo Gill, Greenhow and Greenhow Sike, within the Forest of Knaresborough. The lease was for 20 years at one-ninth. Work began at Mongo Gill and, in seven weeks they had produced 30 loads of ore. Then evicted by Bolton Priory.
